Meet Our Team
Savas KoutsantonisSavas Koutsantonis, an avid outdoors person, born and raised in Kelowna, British Columbia, has been fly-fishing since he was 8 years old and tying flies since he was 15. He is well versed in forestry and specialized in insect diseases and mapping within the BC Interior. With proven knowledge in the bush, he can provide directions to any fishing hole in the Okanagan. In 1996, Savas opened Trout Waters Fly & Tackle, a specialty fly-fishing shop. Over the years, he has shared his knowledge of fly-fishing and provided instructions to many fly-fishing enthusiasts. Savas is an accomplished Stillwater specialist in BC and well known for his innovative and effective fly tying patterns. He has fly-fished most lakes and rivers in BC and believes that there is no better place to fish than BC. In his view, fly-fishing one of the smaller Okanagan lakes on a pontoon boat is the "ultimate angling experience".
Nick PaceNick Pace started fishing at the age of 6 in Ontario. He has fished the many rivers and lakes out east and decided to move out to the Okanagan to devote his time to fishing for the best trout in Canada. Having knowledge of the backcountry lakes and rivers, he can offer advice to all levels of fisherman. You can often find Nick behind the tying bench as an instructor or creating innovative flies, including tube flies, steelhead patterns or bucktail'. Nick partnered up with Trout Waters Fly & Tackle in 2003 bringing his passion for fishing as well as his extensive sales and merchandising experience. He states, "BC offers world class fishing for trout, steelhead or salmon and that fly-fishing for them is the finest form of pursuit". Gary McLaughlinGary's 23 years in the Yukon found him hiking into or canoeing the numerous fishing lakes and rivers. During the winter months, you would find him teaching winter survival for the Yukon Government. His playground now is the Granby Provincial Park where he hikes into the high mountain lakes fishing for Westslope cutthroat. He works at Trout Waters Fly & Tackle and during his spare time, he helps others with their mapping and GPS navigational skills. Gary has just completed a guidebook on the Granby Provincial Park which will soon be available in the store. Gary says, "Don't plan it, do it." Drop in and have a chat with him.
