Rio - Interchangeable Tips: Coldwater VersiTip
 |
Evolved from the WindCutter fly line design, the VersiTip has the RIO
non-hinging welded loop design and five interchangeable tips. The smooth, slim welded loops will not
foul the guides. Unlike other sink tips, this line is designed with a thick belly to turn over dense
sinking tips. Attach either the Clouser taper floating tip or one of the four sinking tips directly
to the body. Packaged with the floating tip, plus a 15 ft water-clear AquaLux Intermediate tip
(1.5 ips 3.8 cm/s), Type 3 DC (3 - 4 ips 8.9 cm/s), Type 6 DC (6 - 7 ips 17 cm/s) and a Type 8 DC
(8 - 9 ips 20.3 cm/s) sinking tips (sizes #8 - #10 only). It is the fly line favored by Alaskan
guides for all species and by steelhead fly fishers. With the VersiTip the fly fisher is always
prepared to meet any fishing conditions encounted. Made with a memory-free coldwater coating and
core.

Rio - Lake Fly Lines: AuqaLux Intermediate
 |
A must-have line for the serious lake angler. Castability has always
been a problem with clear intermediate sinking lines because there are no lubricants in the coating
and the lines drag through the guides. RIO has solved the problem by incorporating proprietary
lubricants into the running line coating that make the line slick. The running line is translucent
green while the head is completely clear. With an intermediate sinking rate of 1.5 - 2.0 inches per
second (3.7 cm/s), the line is perfect for fishing subsurface and shallow shore lines. Ideal when
stealth is required for wary, selective fish. Made on a low memory supple monofilament core with a
coldwater coating and welded loop on the front end.

Rio - Lake Fly Lines: Deep 3, Deep 4, Deep 6
 |
A series of sinking lines that feature an increase in density at the
front to ensure the line sinks tip first - aiding in bite detection and in setting the hook. These
lines are made on a supple core for memory free performance and have a super smooth, tungsten
impregnated coating that makes distance casting easy. An essential line for the serious lake fly
fisher. The WF4S and WF5S, Type 6 lines are made on a Powerflex core.

Rio - Lake Fly Lines: Deep 7
 |
This full sinking fly line was developed for the expert competition
reservoir "buzzer" or chironomid anglers in the United Kingdom who need to get their
flies down deep and fast. The Deep 7, built on an ultra thin single-strand monofilament core, is one
of the fastest and most durable sinking lines in the world. It gets flies down deep and generates high
line speed. North American anglers find it useful fishing in waters such as the Kamloops area of British
Columbia or the desert lakes of the U.S. The Deep 7 is created for a 7 weight fly rod, but can be used
on 5 - 8 weight.

Rio - Freshwater Lines: Rio Gold
 |
New for 2008, the Ultimate Fly Line. A revolutionary taper design
allows tremendous loop stability at distance and a unique weight distribution loads a rod at close
range for easy casting. The front taper delivers perfect turnover and presentation of flies between
sizes #22 and #2, making this the best general purpose, all round fly line on the market. The long
back taper is excellent for mending and for roll and single handed spey casting and the color change
between the head and the running line makes it easy to find the perfect load point for each cast. The
lines features RIO's new Extreme Slickness Technology for an extraordinarily slick, dirt-repelling
coating; in addition RIO's AgentX and Super Floatation Technologies ensure the line tip and running
line remain floating high. As with all of RIO's premier trout lines a small, neat welded loop in
the front end makes it easy to change leaders.

Rio - Freshwater Lines: Rio Grand
 |
The RIO Grand is one half size heavier and features a unique taper
design that pushes the weight to the front - enabling the caster to load the rod at short range. The
line is ideal for fast action fly rods. RIO's AgentX Technology gives the RIO Grand maximum
floatation and creates an ultra smooth coating. This, coupled with the new Extreme Slickness Technology,
ensures the line's coating is super slick and results in increased distance and line shooting ability.
The Super Floatation Tip stays riding high on the water and has a welded loop to facilitate fast rigging.

Rio - Freshwater Lines: Skagit Fly Line
 |
Skagit casting requires a line with a very short, 25-27 ft (7.6-8.3 m),
heavy head that will propel heavy sink tips and big flies great distances with a very short casting stroke.
Skagit casting is easy for novice or experienced casters to learn and exceptionally useful in situations with
tight, restricted back casting space. Skagit lines have a revolutionary design that is perfect for Skagit
casting. Available either as a body only, to which you attach one of RIO's 15 ft tips, T-8, T-11 or T-14,
or as a VersiTip model that comes packaged with a shooting head wallet, a 5 ft cheater and a 15 ft DC Type 6
(6 ips, 15 cm/s) and a DC Type 8 (8 ips, 20 cm/s) sinking tip.

Skagit Cheaters
|
Improved for 2008, the Skagit casting requires that the head length
of the line is 3 to 3.5 times the length of the rod. Add a Skagit cheater to RIO's Skagit line
or Skagit head to maintain this ratio. Skagit Cheaters are short extension sections to add to Skagit
lines to help maintain a comfortable casting stroke. These sections go between the front of the
Skagit line and the required tip. Available in two formats:
- A pack of four sections; a 2½ ft, a 5 ft and a 7 ½ ft floating section and a 5 ft intermediate
section
- A single 5 ft floating cheater

Rio - Spey Lines: WindCutter® Spey
 |
The original spey line, frequently imitated, never bettered. It has an
easy loading head between 45 ft - 56 ft (depending on the size) and is the most versatile of all spey
lines. The WindCutter® is available as a full floating line with a welded loop at the front end
for attaching RIO's Powerflex core leaders or as a VersiTip option and is yellow with a black
"loading point" that shows the angler where the rod has its optimum load. The VersiTip line features
RIO(#39;s thin, non-hinging welded loops and includes a body section, a floating and an intermediate
Tip 2 compensator, a 15 ft (4.6m) floating, a clear intermediate (1.5 ips, 4 cm/s), a DC Type 3 (3ips,
8 cm/s), a DC Type 6 (6 ips, 15 cm/s) and a DC Type 8 (8 ips, 20 cm/s) sinking tip. The WWF 5/6 does
not include Tip 2 or a Type 8 tip. The 4/5 is only available as a floating line.

Rio - Skagit Flight Shooting Head
 |
The Skagit Flight Shooting Head is the very ultimate design in Skagit lines for maximum flight time, effortless casting strokes, and the tightest and sweetest of loops. Based on the extraordinarily successful AFS head, the line features a back end that loads rods deeply and easily and a long, subtle front taper that ensures the energy flows smoothly to the tip, generating gorgeous loops and long, long flight times and distance. The front end has a thick tip that packs a big punch and easily lifts out heavy tips and large flies with supreme ease.
The heads vary in length between 24 ft and 31 ft, depending on the size, and the range of weights ensures that even the most fastidious of casters will be able to tune their rod to perfection.
Attach a shooting line to the ultra strong welded loop at the back end and one of RIO's 15 ft tips or a piece of T-11, T-14 or T-17 (sold separately) to the exceptionally neat, bullet proof front loop.
