Fly Tying Clinics

Are you interested in learning how to tie your own flies? Are you interest in improving your fly tying skills?

Trout Waters Fly & Tackle offers different levels of fly tying clinics from January through to April. Each clinic accommodates a limited number of participants, so booking ahead is essential. The clinics focus on fly tying concepts and mastering a variety of fly patterns through a step-by-step process. Once you understand the fly tying techniques, you will see that, all in all, any pattern can be created.

Our approach ensures you acquire the knowledge to tie your own flies or to supplement your previous fly tying skills. So, we schedule the clinics by level.

BEGINNERS << Classes begin in January 2012 >>
Scheduled for five two-hour evening sessions. Designed for individuals who have no or little experience and want to learn the fundamentals of fly tying. Fly patterns will be ased on those that are used locally and throughtout BC. Participants will become familiar with the techniques, the materials, and the tools required for fly tying.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
Scheduled at specific dates and times and tailored to the skill level of the participants and the scope of the clinic. Designed for individuals who have experience tying flies but want to enhance their fly tying knowledge. The clinics emphasize advance tying techniques for dry or wet fly patterns, tube flies, and salt water flies.
